Would you like to become a welder but have a busy schedule? Welding Nevada may be the right school for you! We give you the ability to make your own schedule: you choose the days and hours you come to class. Our course is progress based not attendance based, meaning that you learn at your own pace in an unstructured environment. Open enrollment, you can start TODAY!

One of the biggest concerns new students have before signing up for welding school is, "Will I be able to get a job after I graduate?" At Welding Nevada there are multiple things we do to make sure you are as marketable as possible to potential employers upon graduation. First and foremost is CERTIFICATION. This is what Pros have. This is what Pros do. Certification is different from "Certificates". Certificate of graduation... Not helping you. SENSE Certificate.... Not helping you. Kinda like the participation awards we got as kids, Certificates don't help you get the job you want.

Our main focus is getting you certifications. You will get your first AWS stamped certification FREE included with the price of this course. The certification you test for will be based on your level of skill AND it will be your choice which type of welding you get certified in. Certifications are much more specific than certificates in that they allow you to work on different types of job sites. Having several Certifications make it much more likely to find the perfect job. You have the option to add more certifications for $260 each. Lastly, we also give our students a box to keep their welding samples in. We recommend that the best way for new welders to get a job is to show samples of their work at American Welding Society meetings: it is absolutely the best place to meet other people inside the welding industry. Keep in mind that like many other industries welders get most of their jobs through people they know!

Ultimately it is the quality of your work that will get you a job and determine your hourly wage. That is why it is so important to learn from the best possible instructor. Our instructor DeCall Thomas has over 30,000 hours of experience and is in the top 1% of income earners in this field. It is his goal to transfer his knowledge to his students so that they go on to eventually become above average welders and perhaps even experts if they're willing to put in the work.

An employer can look at a weld and can tell the difference between work that is worth $15 an hour and is worth $30 an hour, or even more. DeCall will correct your mistakes and show you the proper techniques that you need to have a successful career over the long term. As with any field you will need to work your way up, but having the proper foundation will definitely make you worth more over the course of your career. For example, DeCall's son-in-law Ernesto learned to weld from DeCall back in 2015. Now, in 2021, Ernesto makes $110 an hour and owns his own welding business. When you have the proper instruction and put in the work this is what is possible.

If you have any additional questions please fill out the form below and/or refer to our Frequently Asked Questions section. If you're ready to pay please scroll down and click on the green button to make a down payment. The cost of the course is $4,900 total, but only a down payment of $1600 is required to get started. The remaining $3,300 is paid while you are taking the course at your own pace. You can make payments as you are able, just so long as you are on track to finish paying by the time you complete the course.

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) for New Students and Prospective New Students

Q: What equipment do I need in order to take the class?

A: All you need is your own set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). That includes safety glasses, welding hood, boots (steel toe, slip on preferred), welding jacket or sleeves, and welding gloves. All of the other equipment such as machines, torches, gas, metal, etc. will be provided by the school.

Q: How experienced is your instructor?

A: Our instructor DeCall Thomas has been a welder for over 30 years and has over 30,000 hours of experience. He is the very definition of an expert welder. He charges $110 an hour for his welding service, putting him firmly in the top 1% of income earners in this field. He is fully committed to transferring his vast knowledge to his students so that they can go on to eventually become more highly paid than the average welder.

Q: How long does the class take to complete?

A: We are progress based, not attendance based, meaning that you complete the class at your own pace. The faster you learn and the more hours you come in per week the faster you will complete the course.

Q: What is the schedule for your students like?

A:  Our flexibility is one of the main things that set us apart from other schools. We don't have a set schedule for our students because we are progress based. You can come in any hours that we are open for any number of days per week. We are open Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday and Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. If you can only come in one day a week you can still complete our course.

Q: Do you have night classes?

A: No. The latest we are open is until 6:30PM on Monday through Thursday. We close early at 4 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Q: Are you open on weekends?

A: Saturdays we are open 8AM-4PM .

Q: What certification do you offer?

A: Students who complete the course will receive 1 Free Certification of their Choice. Certifications are for more specialized types of welding and there are hundreds of them. In order to give more value to our students we are offering one free certification worth $260 to those who complete the course. The certification the student tests for will be based on their level of skill.

Q: Do I need any previous experience as a welder to become a student?

A: No. The vast majority of our students have no previous welding experience.

Q: What does the course consist of?

A: All of the time in the building is devoted to shop work and advancing your skills. It is a Hands on Learning Experience. You will be welding within the first hour.

Q: Do you have job placement/can you guarantee employment upon graduation?

A: Unfortunately no school can guarantee their student a job upon graduation. However, there are things that we do to make our students more attractive to employers. One is that we offer a free certification along with our course. Having certificates plus a certification gives you an advantage over someone who just has certificates or who has a degree but no certification. Another thing we do for our students is that we give them a box and let them keep samples of their welds in there to show their prospective employers.

Ultimately what will get someone a job as a welder is their ability to demonstrate their skills to their employer. Good welders will always have a place in the job market. Our goal at Welding Nevada is to make sure that our students have enough individual attention from our instructor DeCall to correct any mistakes they are doing and to show them the proper methods and techniques of an expert welder. Additionally it is recommended that students become members of AWS and attend AWS meetings for ideal networking opportunities.

Q: The website says that the down payment is $1600. If the rest is pay as you go and the total is $4900 how does that work?

A: We are incredibly flexible about our payment plan. You pay when you are able to, however we encourage our students to actively pay down their balance so that they can have it fully paid off by the time they complete the course. In order to get the AWS certification the course must be paid in full.

Q: Do you accept FAFSA/GI BIll?

A: Currently we are not eligible for either of these. However, we are the most affordable welding school in the state. You’ll also finish faster with us than you would at any other school. So a great way to look at it is that even though you won’t have access to financial aid you’ll still be out in the workforce making money months quicker than you would be if you went to another school.

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located at 1518 Scotland Ln. Las Vegas, NV 89102. It is right next to the I-15 and Sahara. Here is the link to our location on Google Maps: Click Here - Welding Nevada - on Google Maps.
