Interested in becoming a welder? Sign up for a multi-week welding class at Welding Nevada in Las Vegas, NV. At our welding school, you'll learn the basics of welding and acquire the skills needed to earn your official certification. Our professional instructors will teach you everything you need to know about completing basic welds. By the time you graduate from one of our welding classes, you'll be well on your way to welding for a living.
Q: What equipment do I need in order to take the class? A: All you need is your own set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). That includes safety glasses, welding hood, boots (steel toe, slip on preferred), welding jacket or sleeves, and welding gloves. All of the other equipment such as machines, torches, gas, metal, etc. will be provided by the school. Q: How experienced is your instructor? A: Our instructor DeCall Thomas has been a welder for over 30 years and has over 30,000 hours of experience. He is the very definition of an expert welder. He charges $110 an hour for his welding service, putting him firmly in the top 1% of income earners in this field. He is fully committed to transferring his vast knowledge to his students so that they can go on to eventually become more highly paid than the average welder. Q: How long does the class take to complete? A: We are progress based, not attendance based, meaning that you complete the class at your own pace. The faster you learn and the more hours you come in per week the faster you will complete the course. Q: What is the schedule for your students like? A: Our flexibility is one of the main things that set us apart from other schools. We don't have a set schedule for our students because we are progress based. You can come in any hours that we are open for any number of days per week. We are open Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday and Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. If you can only come in one day a week you can still complete our course. Q: Do you have night classes? A: No. The latest we are open is until 6:30PM on Monday through Thursday. We close early at 4 PM on Friday and Saturday. Q: Are you open on weekends? A: Saturdays we are open 8AM-4PM . Q: What certification do you offer? A: Students who complete the course will receive 1 Free Certification of their Choice. Certifications are for more specialized types of welding and there are hundreds of them. In order to give more value to our students we are offering one free certification worth $260 to those who complete the course. The certification the student tests for will be based on their level of skill. Q: Do I need any previous experience as a welder to become a student? A: No. The vast majority of our students have no previous welding experience. Q: What does the course consist of? A: All of the time in the building is devoted to shop work and advancing your skills. It is a Hands on Learning Experience. You will be welding within the first hour. Q: Do you have job placement/can you guarantee employment upon graduation? A: Unfortunately no school can guarantee their student a job upon graduation. However, there are things that we do to make our students more attractive to employers. One is that we offer a free certification along with our course. Having certificates plus a certification gives you an advantage over someone who just has certificates or who has a degree but no certification. Another thing we do for our students is that we give them a box and let them keep samples of their welds in there to show their prospective employers. Ultimately what will get someone a job as a welder is their ability to demonstrate their skills to their employer. Good welders will always have a place in the job market. Our goal at Welding Nevada is to make sure that our students have enough individual attention from our instructor DeCall to correct any mistakes they are doing and to show them the proper methods and techniques of an expert welder. Additionally it is recommended that students become members of AWS and attend AWS meetings for ideal networking opportunities. Here is a link to the American Welding Society's job listing database: https://www.careersinwelding.com/career-profiles/ Q: Do you accept FAFSA/GI BIll? A: Currently we are not eligible for either of these. However, we are the most affordable welding school in the state. You’ll also finish faster with us than you would at any other school. So a great way to look at it is that even though you won’t have access to financial aid you’ll still be out in the workforce making money months quicker than you would be if you went to another school. Q: Where are you located? A: We are located at 1518 Scotland Ln. Las Vegas, NV 89102. It is right next to the I-15 and Sahara.
